High RAM usage
- The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak utilizes a dynamic asset caching system that attempts to store as much reusable game data as possible within system memory. The game adjusts the maximum size of the cache based on the amount of available RAM, so memory usage of 20+ GB or more on capable systems is considered normal behavior.[2]
- Dynamic asset caching massively decreases loading times when revisiting areas within the same play session, even on mechanical hard drives.
- This functionality can be hard-capped (up to 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB) or completely disabled in the options menu.
System requirements
- The system requirements for the forthcoming English version as published by NIS America are listed below.
Windows | ||
---|---|---|
Minimum | Recommended | |
Operating system (OS) | 10 / 11 | |
Processor (CPU) | AMD Ryzen 5 1600 | Intel Core i5-10400 |
System memory (RAM) | 8 GB | 16 GB |
Hard disk drive (HDD) | 10 GB HDD | |
Video card (GPU) | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB of VRAM | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB of VRAM |
- Minimum specs target 1080p @ 30 fps under the Performance graphics profile. Recommended specs target 1440p @ 60fps under the High graphics profile.

- "...the default setting in Kuro does exactly that: it uses up to 80% of the available memory to cache loaded and decompressed assets. And this does mean that when you play for a very long time, and have a lot of main memory, you might actually see the game process using 20 GB or even more of it..."
